Donations being collected for local family for upcoming cancer treatment expenses; Donations will be in support of Colton Rahn, 13-year-old at East Prairie Middle School

By Christy Taylor, Heather
Madden and Tammy Bennet
Colton Rahn was diagnosed with FOC1 negative rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare childhood cancer, on May 13 after having a lump removed.

Colton is expected to have 40 weeks of treatment with weekly trips to St. Louis Children’s Hospital. He is also expected to undergo at least two more surgeries.

Friends and family of Colton Rahn are hosting a benefit on Sunday, Oct. 9 at the Tuscola Moose Lodge. Colton is an active 13-year-old and eighth-grader at East Prairie Middle School. He is a fighter, a Warrior,  and a survivor of cerebral palsy and epilepsy.

The goal of the benefit is to raise money to help offset some of the costs for travel, lodging, meals and other expenses. As a valued local business, we are seeking in-kind monetary donations or items for the silent auction that will go towards the purchase of the above-stated items.

The event will have inflatables,  lunch from 12-2, as well as the silent auction. More details are to come.

Donations can be made directly to the Trust Bank – Tuscola, 900 Progress Blvd, Tuscola, IL 61953, Attn: Katie Parker or Christy Taylor.

Silent auction items can be dropped off at Tuscola Sav-Mor, Tuscola Dollar General or picked up by contacting Christy Rahn at 217-480-7698. Items must be collected by Oct. 1.

We know it takes a village and thank you in advance for your consideration and assistance.
