City of Tuscola prepares for Sparks in the Park on July 9

Grab your sunscreen and get ready for a day full of fun and celebration at Tuscola’s Sparks in the Park festivities on Saturday, July 9.
The day begins at 6:45 a.m. with registration for the Firecracker 5K Run/Walk sponsored by Alpha & Omega. Registration will be held from 6:45 to 7:15 a.m. at the North Pavilion at Ervin Park.
Then, the American Legion Pancake Breakfast will be held from 7 to 10 a.m. at the Tuscola Community Building.
Biddy Basketball is then sponsoring the 3 on 3 basketball tournament at Ervin Park. The tournament will begin at 9 a.m. at the south end of Ervin Park. Registration will be held from 8 to 8:30 a.m.
At 11 a.m., Tuscola Soccer Club is sponsoring a 3 on 3 soccer tournament. Teams can be composed of at least three and no more than 6 players. Early registration is suggested.
Tuscola Woman’s Club will then be holding their annual cake walk at 12 p.m. at the South Pavilion.
At 2 p.m., the mud volleyball tournament will begin at the north end of Ervin Park. Teams need to be composed of six players and registration will be held from 1 to 1:30 p.m.
The Kitchen Band will take the South Pavilion stage at 2 p.m. Following, the Tuscola Community Band will perform at 4 p.m. All are welcome to bring a lawn chair and enjoy the shows!
At dusk, the annual fireworks display will begin at Ervin Park.
