Villa Grove Blue Devils junior high track and field results

April has been a busy month for the VGJH track and field teams, and here’s a run-down of their performances.

East Prairie Meet at Tuscola on 4/7
Seventh Grade Boys 
Landon Chambers finished first in the 100m and first in the Long Jump to lead the Blue Devils. Jacob Golightly backed his teammate by finishing second in the 400, third in the 100m and third in the long jump. Eamon Reedy finished third in the 800m and ninth in the long jump, and Silas Jones rushed to a fourth place finish in the 400m. Jaden Reynolds finished third in the 400 and sixth in the 100m. Logan Hauersperger ran seventh in the 400m and seventh in the 1600. Bailey Keith chipped in with a fourth place finish in the 110m hurdles and a ninth place showing in the 800m. Cole Cardiff finished eighth in the 1600m, and Brady Sanders rounded out the top ten finishers by finishing tenth in the 200 and tenth in the long jump.

Eighth Grade Boys
The 4x100m relay quartet of Jacob Golightly, Jackson Gilles, Zane Hosler and Landon Chambers raced to a second-place finish to lead the way. Thomas Vandeventer finished second in the shot put and third in the discus, Hosler hustled to a sixth place finish in the 200 and finished seventh in the 100m. Danny Galarza ran seventh in the 400, Jace Bennett earned an eighth place finish in the shot put, just ahead of teammate Jackson Smith, Gilles earned a sixth place finish in the long jump and an eighth place showing in the 400, and Tyson Koeberlein ran ninth in the 200.

Seventh Grade Girls 
Baylee Martin finished first in the long jump and second in the 100m and Evalice Callison won the high jump, finished second in the 200 and third in the 1600m. Cameron McGaughey earned a second place showing in the discus, Lauren Carter placed fourth in the long jump and ran sixth in the 100m and Keri Russell placed tenth in the Long jump. The 4×100 relay team of Rebekka Bloom, Lyndsay Zoch, Carter and Callison finished first, as well.

Eighth Grade Girls 
Piper Kiser finished first in both the shot put and the discus to lead the way. Hayden Thomas won the long jump, finished third in the 200m and sixth in the 100m, as well. Eva Piercy finished fifth in the 800m, and Rebecca Brown finished ninth in the shot put. The 4×100 relay quartet of Kiser, Piercy, Martin and Thomas finished second. 

ALAH Triangular on 4/9
Seventh Grade Boys 
Landon Chambers finished first in the 100m and first in the long jump. Bailey Keith finished third in the 110m hurdles, Jacob Golightly ran third in the 400, and fourth in the 100m and finished third in the long jump, and Eamon Reedy finished fourth in the 800m. 

Eighth Grade Boys
Thomas Vandeventer finished first in the shot put and, in the discus, to lead the way. Jackson Smith backed him with a second-place finish in the shot put, and Zane Hosler finished second in the long jump, third in the 200m and fourth in the 100m. Marc Metheny finished fourth in the shot put and Danny Galarza raced to a fourth place finish in the 400m

Seventh Grade Girls
Evalice Callison finished first in the high jump and third in the 200m, Baylee Martin won the long jump and finished second in the 100m, Cameron McGaughey finished second in the discus, Keri Russell was third in the shot put, and Lauren Carter finished fourth in the long jump and fourth in the 100m. 

Eighth Grade Girls
Piper Kiser finished first in the shot put and second in the discus, Hayden Thomas finished first in the long jump, second in the 200m, and fourth in the 100m, as well. Ryan Lillard earned a third place finish in the shot put, and Eva Piercy ran fourth in the 800m. 

ALAH invitational 4/16
Seventh Grade Boys
Landon Chambers finished first in the long jump and third in the 100m, Jacob Golightly ran second in the 400m, fourth in the 100m and finished third in the long jump, Eamon Reedy placed second in the 800m and fifth in the 1600, Bailey Keith finished eight in the 110m hurdles, and the 4×100 relay team of Logan Hauersperger, Cole Cardiff, Cody Witte and Jaden Reynolds finished fourth.

Eighth Grade Boys
Thomas Vandeventer finished second  in the shot put and third in the discus, Jace Bennett finished fourth in the shot put, and Zane Hosler ran fifth in the 100m, ninth in the 200 and finished eighth in the long jump. Danny Galarza was ninth in the 400m and the 4×100 quartet of Golightly, Galarza, Hosler and Chambers ran third. 

Seventh Grade Girls 
Baylee Martin finished first in the long jump and second in the 100m and Evalice Callison won the high jump, finished third in the 200m, and fourth in the 1600m to lead the team. Lauren Carter was fifth in the long jump and sixth in the 100m, and Lily Davis ran to an eighth place finish in the 800m.

Eighth Grade Girls 
Ryan Lillard finished second in the shot put and second  in the discus to lead the Devils. Hayden Thomas was second in the long jump, sixth in the 200m and ninth in the 100m, and Eva Piercy ran 8th in the 800m. The 4×100 relay foursome of Carter, Piercy, Thomas and Martin streaked to a second-place finish.
