On March 14, TNB Bank in Tuscola will become TrustBank Tuscola. The name change comes as the banks have previously merged to expand services in Tuscola and the surrounding communities. I was able to speak with Dan Eichelburg, CEO/President, to discuss what is happening at the bank.

Why did TrustBank decide to merge with TNB Bank in Tuscola?

The merger was an opportunity to unite the vast banking experiences of two community banks, both with over 100 years of service to their communities. The two banks have similar cultures, based on integrity and focused on creating superior customer service. Both banks have a focus on agriculture and on serving the local communities. By combining, we are better able to serve the needs of our growing business and farm customers. Douglas county and the surrounding counties are strong markets that tie well into our existing footprint.

What changes will be made official with the company on March 14?

On March 14, former TNB customers will be able to access later end of day cut off times for transactions, additional wealth management (trust and investment) solutions, and crop insurance products, to name a few. At the same time our signage will change to recognize TrustBank Tuscola.

How much will daily operations change for customers?

Daily operations will remain very similar for customers. They will see the same staff and have access to the same services as before. It was very important that we recognize and maintain the heritage that TNB Bank and the Murphy and Helm families have with the community.

Are there going to be any major staffing changes?

We are pleased to announce that there will not be any staffing changes and TNB customers will continue to see the same wonderful staff and friendly faces. The great team and strong local history was one of the attractions for TrustBank.

In our previous article, you mentioned some new opportunities for clients, could you expand a little bit more on some of those?

There will be several additional products and services that will be available to the Tuscola market. TrustBank specializes in wealth management (trust and investment) services. We also provide crop insurance to the agricultural customers, while businesses will see expanded access to online functionality.

Is there anything else you would like added?

To enable the transfer of files and system updates, we will be closed on Saturday, March 12, but will re-open on Monday March 14 ready to serve. During the weekend, the ATM and online banking will be available for those needing to bank remotely.
