There was a big homecoming celebration this past weekend after the Warrior’s took down the third ranked Raiders from Central A&M but there was one alumni missing and for good reason. Hunter Woodard was a little busy standing at midfield of Boone Pickens Stadium serving as captain of the Oklahoma State Cowboys in a showdown of two of the top college football programs in the country.

The black and gold alum missed the Poke’s first two contests with an injury and returned in week three just in time for a road trip to the blue turf of Boise State. He was named one of the games MVP’s by OSU head coach Mike Gundy, grading out not only the highest on the Cowboys o-line but also the highest for any lineman in the Big 12 for that week as OSU upending a very strong Bronco squad in a hostile environment.

This past Saturday KSU and OSU traded early scores before the Cowboy’s took over up front repeatedly running a mid zone scheme that cut off Woodard’s block more than a few times riding a strong rushing attack to victory over the 25th ranked Wildcats. The Poke’s remained unbeaten moving to 4-0 on the year moving to number 17 in the latest AP poll.
