The SAM Food Pantry located at the Tuscola United Methodist Church at 901 N. Prairie St. in Tuscola will be changing their hours of operation for the months of May and June.
Beginning Wednesday, May 5 and ending on Wednesday, June 30, the pantry will be open for food distribution during the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The last client will be registered at 10:15 a.m.
The change in hours is being implemented due to the decrease in the number of clients using the pantry and according to E. I. F. B. guidelines.
The pantry will continue to operate as a drive-thru. Clients will stay in their vehicles and masks are mandatory when they are approached by pantry volunteers. Clients must have a charged phone in their possession.
All residents of Douglas County, who are experiencing food insecurity issues can use the pantry once a month for the full pantry. Produce and bread can be secured every Wednesday.
We hope that these changes will be convenient for all clients.
The volunteer staff will reevaluate this change on June 23. Update on hours of operation will be posted on the Pantry’s Facebook page, in The Journal, and signage at the church entrance.
