Tuscola City Council approves file server replacement at City Hall

By Kendra Hennis
The meeting of the Tuscola City Council was called to order at 7:31 p.m. on Monday, February 8. Alderman Dave Slaughter was absent from the meeting.

Following approval of the consent agenda, the council approved Ordinance 21-O-2, authorizing the ceding of private activity bonding authority to the Eastern Illinois Economic Development Authority. The council also approved a contract with Carle Resolutions for the Employee Assistance Program (EAP). This agreement extends the city’s participation in the Carle EAP for an additional year cost of $896. EAP provides counseling to employees and dependents related to employee/performance, supervisory skills, mental health, budgeting, drug and alcohol, and critical incident stress debriefing as part of the city’s Personnel Policy and Drug and Alcohol Policy. They followed approving a contract with Simplified Computers not to exceed the amount of $15,000 for the replacement of the file server at Tuscola City Hall. The quote is $12,760 but that is not including any unexpected increases in prices due to computer parts as well as ancillary cabling, switches, and other installation unknowns.

With no further business, the council adjourned at 7:42 p.m with Mayor Kleiss noting that it would be awfully cold this week. He said to button up and stay safe out there!

The council also:
* Approved the minutes of the previous January 25 council meeting.

* Approved the payment of bills in the amount of $110,614.78.

* Adjourned until the February 22 City Council meeting at 7:30 p.m.
