Drop double header to ALAH
The season didn’t open as hoped for the young Blue Devils Diamond nine, as they dropped a double header to ALAH. Cooper Clark’s fourth inning single was the lone base hit for the visitors as they fell 13-0. Clark also fanned 3 in 2.2 innings of mound work as the starting pitcher and was tagged with the loss.
The bats came to life in the nightcap, a 16-11 loss. Nolan Morse stroked a double and had 2 rbi’s to lead the attack. Thomas Vandeventer and Andrew Fonner also drove in two runs, and Cooper Clark went three for four and scored three runs. Walks proved to be the Devils’ downfall, as they issued 19 free passes to the Knights. VG starter Cole Price fanned 5 batters in 2.1 innings of work, and Jaxon Wilson took the loss in relief.
