Reagan Cheely in Villa Grove Heritage’s spring sports senior spotlight
By Tony Hooker
With the COVID-19 pandemic bringing all athletic competition to a halt, I thought it would be good to get to know the seniors who compete for Villa Grove, Heritage and VGH coop teams.
Reagan Cheely
I think I know the answer to this, but what is your favorite sports moment? What’s the first thing that you see when visualizing that moment?
My favorite sports moment was winning the IHSA junior high state championship. When I look back on it the first thing I think about is all of my teammates running together and hugging after the last pitch to win the game.
What’s your favorite memory of your team that doesn’t involve a game?
My favorite memory with my team was playing laser tag in Tennessee. We are all extremely competitive and it was a lot of fun to beat their butts.
Who does the best Coach Block impression? Is it any good?
Kyleigh Block definitely does the best impression but she might have a little bit of an advantage. They are pretty much twins so I’d say it’s the best I’ve ever seen.
What are your post-graduation plans?
After graduation I will be going to Parkland College to play softball and hopefully find out what I want to major in.
What’s your favorite food?
My favorite food is any Jimmy John’s sandwich.
When we can start going again, who do you have to have tickets to see in concert?
If I could get tickets to see anyone it would be Post Malone.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
In ten years I have no idea where I will be. I’m going to let life figure that out for me.
