VG Scholastic Bowl wins Illinois Masonic Academic Challenge state title

The magical 2020 Scholastic Bowl season for Villa Grove high school continued on Saturday, March 7, when they went 7-0 to Claim the Illinois Masonic Academic Challenge state title.

The day began with a 200-120 win over Warrensburg Latham.  The second round saw them defeat United 140 to 80.  Edwards County was no match in the third round, falling 160-60.  New Berlin put up a solid fourth round challenge before fall 200-170, and the Blue Devils wrapped up preliminary competition with a 150-90 win over Fisher

The Blue Devils opened the playoff round with a 140-70 win over Galena, and wrapped up the state title by defeating Edwards County once more in the championship match by a score of 180-100.
