James C. Ludwig

James C. Ludwig, 68, of rural Tuscola, IL, passed away at 9:27 p.m., Friday, September 27, 2019 at the Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL

Funeral Services were held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 4, 2019 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL, with Pastor Duane Piercy officiating. Burial will follow in the Tuscola Township Cemetery.

Visitation was held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home.

Jim was born on November 4, 1950 in Highland, IL, the son of William P. and Beverly Vollentine Ludwig. He married Betty Ann Wahls on June 22, 1986 at East Alton, IL. She survives.

Also surviving are his children: Bill (Heather) Ludwig, Joe (Shelly) Ludwig, Josh (Jamie) Ludwig, Angie (Aaron) Thomason and Jason (Amy) Gaines all of Tuscola, grandchildren: Michael, Jayden, Ty, Nate, Zoey, Carson, Conner, John and Caitlynn, brothers: Larry (Norma Jean) Ludwig and William (Shelia) Ludwig and many cousins.

Jim worked as an owner/operator and driver for JM Jones/Supervalu. He loved fishing, St. Louis Cardinals baseball and he was very devoted and loyal to his family.

Jim was raised to be on the water. He enjoyed water skiing and belonged to several ski clubs. He loved his time at his lake house and time spent with his wife fishing. Jim took his days off during the weekdays because he teased that he couldn’t play well with others!

Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
