We are excited to bring you a new change that is taking place in our newspaper community.
Beginning with this week’s edition, The Tuscola Journal will become “The Journal.” With that being said, let me explain where we are headed. To better serve our loyal readers, we are merging The Tuscola Journal with The Villa Grove News. We are increasing our coverage to join together Tuscola, Villa Grove, Camargo and surrounding areas.
The Villa Grove News has been in existence for 110 years and has led its community with loyal reporting. But the time has come to grow and expand our coverage.
I am honored to spearhead the consolidation of these newspapers and compile our work without cutting a line of information you have come to expect from the respective publications each week. The familiar voices will remain, and the range of coverage will increase. We have found a common ground that I believe will only improve our publication.
In doing this we will expand our circulation and give our faithful readers and advertisers more for their money. We will continue working to improve our design and digital outreach to better suit today’s world, and you will continue to have access to our newspaper 24/7.
We are honored to have you join us for this new beginning. Our communities have their own histories, traditions and heritages. This is what makes each one unique, and we hope to continue celebrating what each community means to their residents.
With combining our papers, you will be gaining so much more. We welcome your suggestions on how we can do even more to bring you a quality newspaper and invite you to call or e-mail me at 253-5086 or firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com. You are also welcome to stop by and share your ideas.
I believe we have a unique opportunity to learn from each other’s communities, to share our resources, and over all strengthen the connections within Douglas County.
