Letter: Community works to ‘Stamp Out Hunger’

Editor,
The U.S.P.S. food drive was held May 11. The total of $1,724.56 of food and $565 were collected—bringing the total poundage to 3,984.56.

The SAM Pantry greatly appreciated each and every one who donated. Thanks for helping to “Stamp Out Hunger.”

A big thank you goes to the Tuscola Post Office employees, as well as, volunteers from the SAM Pantry, Kiwanis, Key Club, and FFA. The Tuscola IGA did a round-up at their check out registers. Hastings Printing donated the printing of the flyers and door hangers. The Lions Club donated the use of signage to advertise and to thank the community.

I also want to thank Carol Beals and Sandy Oye who, as co-chairwomen, organized the drive for the SAM Pantry.
