Douglas County correctional officer graduates from academy

On Feb. 18, Douglas County Sheriff Joshua Blackwell presented Douglas County Correctional Officer Dakota Mohr with a Letter of Commendation for his recent achievements and graduation from the Basic Correctional Officer’s (BCO) Academy. Ofc. Mohr, who resides in Tuscola, attended BCO in Sangamon County from Jan. 7 to Feb. 8. During graduation, Ofc. Mohr was awarded the Outstanding Correctional Officer Award and Scholastic Achievement Award by the Police Training Institute (PTI) based out the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.

Ofc. Mohr was nominated by his peers for his outstanding academic and professional achievement while attending BCO Academy #3320, and graduated in the top 10% of his class. In Ofc. Mohr’s Commendation Letter, Sheriff Blackwell commended him on his “hard work, dedication, and professionalism” while attending BCO.
