Moultrie Douglas Fair elects new officers and director

The Board of Directors for the Moultrie Douglas County Fair and Agricultural Association recently elected Jim Fleming of Arthur as the new president for the fair. Fleming becomes the 14th president for the fair and takes over from Sandy Hoke of Tuscola. Also elected was Sarah Reedy of Tuscola as vice president. Joining Fleming and Reedy on the officer team are Michelle Strader of Hindsboro as secretary and Megan Beckmeier of Atwood as treasurer. The Board appointed Duane Gingerich of Lovington as a director.

The Board’s primary responsibility is putting together the annual fair and overseeing facilities owned by the fair association. The group is proud of recent improvements of new bleachers and lighting. The upcoming year’s focus will be continued facility upgrades and updating the association’s by-laws. The 89th fair will run July 7-13 at the fairgrounds located at 220 Jurgens Parkway in Arthur.
