Key Club had their annual meeting Wednesday, Nov. 7. Sabrina Alcorn, the president, thanked everyone who came to the ice cream social at Flesor’s Candy Kitchen, helped with the Rotary Food Drive, the Coin Drive for recent hurricane victims, Peanut Days, and the Halloween Party at the library. Also, they are doing a sock drive for the One Stop Community Christmas. If anyone would like to donate, please leave them in the Tuscola High School Office, and if you have any questions, you can contact Ms. Voyles. Caleigh Parsley, Emma Zimmer, Morgan Jones, and Madison Green were the top four members for first quarter service hours. Congratulations girls!

The Tuscola National Honor Society had their first meeting with the new inductees Thursday, Nov. 8. The Blood Drive is Monday, Nov. 19 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the TCHS Study Hall. It is hosted by NHS and the Douglas County Rotaract. There is a huge need for blood right now, so please donate.

TCHS NHS, Band, and Choir did High Five Friday at North Ward welcoming all the students and encouraging them to have a great day and happy Friday on the 9th.

TCHS Basketball Cheerleaders had tryouts Thursday the 8th and Friday the 9th from 6-8:30 p.m. in the North Ward gym. Congratulations to the new squad for the 2018-2019 TCHS Boys’ Basketball Season: Alana Simms, Ashlyn Donnals, Ava Cothron, Bryona Lee, Charlize Wilson, Chole Lee, Gabrielle Ainsworth, Julia Kerkhoff, Kali Pierce, Kenzi Heckler, Paige Goad, and Samantha Goad.

TCHS FFA returned from National FFA Convention held in Indianapolis, Ind. Ten members traveled to Indy for five days attending tours, workshops, sessions and the largest career fair geared towards youth. Members Coulson Poffenberger and Morgan Jones attended the annual BUILD Conference formerly known as Illinois Farm Bureau 360 Conference. Both members, who are current FFA Officers for Tuscola, gained a new perspective on leading and tools needed to be a leader.

The seventh grade boys’ basketball roster includes: Jordan Quinn, Brayden Gough, Brady Cain, Jackson Barrett, Austin Cummings, Ty Thomason, Nate Thomason, Josiah Hortin, Sam Spencer, Will Foltz, Kilen Smith, and Aiden Weaver.

The eighth grade boys’ basketball roster includes: Colton Musgrave, Easton Cunningham, Mason Jones, Hunter Branca, Ben Hornaday, Robert Fancher, Will Cowan, Boston Broady, Jordan Sanchez, Grant Kaufman, Isaac Franklin, and Jordan Donnals.

Both teams have played five games. Seventh grade is 4-1 and eighth Grade is 1-4. Both groups have played some really good teams so far, and we are starting to see some progress being made with both groups. We are looking forward to the rest of the season!
