East Prairie girls collect first round victory at JHOC

The seventh and eighth grade girls played Cerro Gordo in the first round of the JHOC tournament.
“Both teams had a really strong first half,” coach Beth Pugh said. “The eighth grade didn’t play as well in the second half, but I was happy with the effort.”

Seventh Grade
EP-33; CG-14
The seventh grade girls’ basketball team showed consistency in their offense with a 33-14 win over Cerro Gordo in the opening round of the conference tournament.
Marissa Boyer put together a huge game with 12 points, and Sydney Moss contributed eight. Zoey Thomason put together seven points, while Catie Gibson, Emily Czerwonka, and Rachael Jones added two apiece.
Eighth Grade
EP-26; CG- 15
The eighth grade Lady Hornets had a big first half that allowed them to cruise to a 26-15 victory over Cerro Gordo in Round 1 of the conference tournament.
Molly Macaulay led the team with six points, and Mia Hausmann added five. Claire Meyer and Ella Boyer contributed four apiece, and Marley Good and Izzy Wilcox had two each. Harley Woodard put up two to end the scoring.
