Douglas County CEO Color Run Nov. 3 in Arthur

By Kent A. Stock
The six-student Douglas County CEO team this year is hosting a color run with more fun activities taking place at Eberhardt Park in Arthur on Saturday, Nov. 3. Registration is at 4 p.m. for the festive, fun 5K color walk and run through the park that evening.

There will also be a cornhole tournament, pumpkin painting, costume contest, face painting along with a cookout. It will be a great fall night for family fun at beautiful Eberhardt Park in Arthur.

The winner of the race will win a basket full of goodies from local businesses. The first ten people to register for the race will earn a free entry to win another gift basket courtesy of supporters of the program.

The students have been planning and preparing for several weeks. They have even been attempting to create their own color powder for the event!

“This is our program promotion event,” said Sara Kremitzki, a 17-year-old senior at Tuscola Community High School. “It is going to be a fun, family-friendly evening that will help support our CEO class this year as we create our own businesses.”

Kremitzki wanted to encourage everyone to visit the group’s Facebook page for links to race registration forms and other information about the program.

“This year the program was opened up to juniors and seniors from Douglas County schools. The entrepreneurial program encourages students seeking to enter either college or the work force with insights into the business world.”

“We have been touring Douglas County businesses, hearing from local entrepreneurs and gaining valuable knowledge. It is a great program and we hope that everyone will come out and support us all while having a great time.”

The group also has a very informative newsletter that comes out Monday morning each week. You can sign up for this at the Douglas County CEO website.
