Letter: Rotary Club food drive set for Oct. 20
Editor,
The Rotary food drive on Saturday, Oct. 20th is a way in the Tuscola community to help fight the food insecurities which affect a large population of the residents of Douglas County. The SAM Food Pantry will benefit from this drive. Each an every can and box of food helps in this effort. It is greatly appreciated by the staff at the pantry who are all volunteers.
So, whether you give a can or a dollar, every item is used to help serve the pantry clients.
Suggested items needed are personal hygiene items, such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, and baby diapers and canned food stuffs like corn, green beans, and peaches.
Last year, the Rotary drive resulted in 22,000 pounds of food including the monetary donations converted to poundage. So, let’s see if we match or surpass last year’s total.
If you have been blessed by always having enough of everything, you may share abundantly.
