Letter: Community ready to ‘Stamp out Hunger’

To the Editor:

The volunteers who work at the SAM Food Pantry would like to thank all the individuals, groups, organizations, and companies who have made donations of food products that we distribute to our clients.

To everyone, including companies, who have made monetary donations, also a big thank you. The monetary donations are used to purchase items from the Eastern Illinois Food Bank to stock our shelves and to purchase inventory from local businesses.

The postal service will be collecting items on Saturday, May 12. The following list has suggestions of items that are needed:

Feminine products
Diapers
Kleenex
Paper towels
Ketchup
Mustard
Corn–including creamed
Crackers
Cake and Brownie mixes
Peanut Butter
